Do you know if they have a private dinning area?

No private dining, sort of like being at a big family reunion in a small house.

can i jave your biscuit recipe

I doubt it. Call the manager and ask

Breakfast was really good. It was very difficult to find the parking lot if you're not familiar with the area. The parking is off a side street behind the actual building. The wait staff were really nice and the restaurant was cozy. There were a lot of options on the menu, and it is not expensive. We tried this place because of the great recommendations that everyone gave. If you are looking for a good breakfast, in a cozy place, that is local and not super expensive then this is the place !

WWas on my places to go list after the 2018 Iron Bowl. Group of five went Sunday morning and we were all pleased. We were seated very fast despite the small crowd waiting on a table. Some in the group ordered Elephant shaped pancakes and had no complaints. I had a tomato and cheese omelet with sausage and a side of hash browns and sweet tea. Meals came with hot biscuits. I will definitely make a plan to go back next time I'm in Tuscaloosa to try a lunch. Just my opinion but o not judge the outer condition of this little restaurant, it is rough and old. The inside shows years of wear and tear but nothing takes away from the excellent food that comes out of their kitchen. An added benefit to the eating experience is the huge collection of Alabama football memorabilia that decorates every inch of the walls.

Dilapidated exterior doesn’t equate to charm. Waiting for a table is fine and expected. The food took ages to arrive and was mostly average. Waitress forgot several items and although apologized was overall mediocre service. Omelette arrived with cheese it shouldn’t have had and without spinach it should have had. A redo and more delay. Pancakes were dry and barely warm. Grits, bacon and biscuits were all very good. Can’t imagine ever coming back. Disappointed as I had hoped for an iconic T-town experience.

We recently went on a week day around 10am. The place is old and very dirty. The waitress was very unfriendly and the service was horrible. We ordered breakfast and our biscuits were clearly old and stale. The omelette was decent.I asked for a refill on my coffee and was told "you are going to have to give me just a minute" while the waitress waited on her regular weekly customers and got to go orders ready. I will not eat there again. It was disappointing because I have heard that this was a "must visit" place in Tuscaloosa.

Home cooked meals great atmosphere and I dont know if they know, but that place has a man spirit and a dog. Me and my husband came down from Baltimore to see the game and came upon this place . We were sitting there eating and what I thought was a dog run up to me and a older man. I was like what just happen and i said to my husband this place has spirits and my husband said oh wow that's crazy becuz i thought i just saw a dog run twds us. So good food and nice spirits.

The place was nice and the service was very good but I ordered pancakes and the syrup had just come out of the refrigerator which made them really cold, at least room temp would have been better, my milk was good and cold, everything else was basically between cold to lukewarm.

The best breakfast joint I’ve ever been to. It’s a hole in the wall with an awesome down home atmosphere and very personable service. I believe the owner was our waiter and made sure we felt right at home. He quickly figured we were from Indiana by the strange car in the parking lot and made sure to let us know we were appreciated. The food was amazing and the experience even better.

Table of three - two orders of biscuits between us. The orders come out staggered with the first one clearly way way overcooked and the second batch (20 minutes later after asking for it) looked great and tasted great. Two hours spent here, 20 minutes on waiting (with a reservation), an hour wait on food after ordering and overall not a great experience. I give it three stars only because I think this was somehow an off day, but I hope everyone else's stops here turn out well!

Quaint hole in the wall place, excellent breakfast. Not many tables, so there may be a wait. Silver dollar biscuits are the best, but remember that they don't come with the pancakes.Walls covered with Crimson Tide art and memorabilia, very popular with Tide fans on game days. If you're trying to get a table then, expect a wait.

Always the best breakfast. In our party, we had country ham, sugar cured ham, bacon, eggs, pancakes, grits and, of course, biscuits everything was served hot and fresh and was excellent. Who could ask for more. I have been a customer for over 40 years.

The owner is rude and the place looks too outdated to still remain in business. The food is bland, although the Roll Tide paraphernalia all over the place gives it a nice feel on the inside.

I work nearby and just dropped in to grab a to-go cup of milk. They charged me $3.27 for a cup of milk. Literally, an 8oz cup of milk. I have lived in Tuscaloosa for six years, and had always heard mention of the "legendary" Waysider. No. The interior was dark, damp, dank, and dirty. It just felt clammy and gross. I wouldn't eat there, and I wouldn't even go back a cup of milk.

I love this place for the fantastic breakfast “like grandma used to make”! Been eating here for years but I have to say recently the house is really showing its age...so much so that walking up to the front door you may almost loose your appetite but push through that sick tummy feeling...the fresh homemade biscuits are soooooo worth it!

went to brunch with a few friends and my boyfriend. Said my boyfriend and I would be on the same ticket. After I ordered pancakes, toast and hashbrowns, our waitress turned to my boyfriend and asked in a condescending tone if I was ordering for him too. My friends and I were stunned and I was so stung tears came to my eyes. Later when my friends ordered coffee, our waitress slammed my friends drinks down in front of them without saying a word. She never checked on us after our food arrived, and at one point brought us the wrong order and forgot Parts of mine. I was extremely upset and disappointed. I won’t be back.

The food is simple but overall very good. Bacon and eggs were excellent. Only thing I was a little disappointed in were the hash browns, which were just fried potatoes and not the best ones. The service was friendly. It's not expensive. Crowded but that just means it's popular.

You have to be patient, but the wait is worth the reward. Everything we've tried has been exceptional! The biscuits are always hot and fresh, and they keep 'em coming! Their sausage is perfectly done, and the gravy is delightful. The servers were super friendly, remembered us, and thanked us for coming back :) Definitely a mandatory stop every time I'm in T-town!!

My family and I have been going to the waysider for as long as I can remember. They have the best grits and homemade biscuits in town. Their omelettes are fluffy and delicious. Their pancakes are superb and if you are lucky might even come in a fun shape. They also have a great meat and three for lunch. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Tuscaloosa.

We enjoyed the Waysider's breakfast on a recent weekend trip back to Tuscaloosa to catch a Bama basketball ball. For over 10 years, the Waysider hasn't disappointed us. Breakfast is delicious! Yes, the place is tight and cramped and the wait can often be long. But it's an experience not to miss. We'll always head to the Waysider when visiting Tuscaloosa.

I was very disappointed! It’s just a lot of hype. The pancakes were cold and the service was horrible. Once the waitress brought us our food, she never came back. I had to get up 3x to ask for water. I was told by the manager he would be right there, but he forgot because he was spending all of his time “visiting” with people at another table. When I got up the third time to get water, I refused to leave until he poured it. My friend asked for a 2nd cup of coffee, which she never got. Don’t waste your time; instead go to Metro. It was fantastic. Healthy choices and reasonable prices. We’ll never come back here.

Have been coming here for breakfast 30 plus years since my college days. Still come whenever I'm in town. It's best to order the special if your goal is to jild down cost but it is really not that bad. Today was my better halfs b'day and she requested Waysider. For breakfast dessert they brought her a Pancake stack with choclate chips with a lit single candle. The entire restaurant sang Happy Birthday.

I know this is a local favorite, so I have to give Tuscaloosa major props for supporting their own. The service was good, nothing spectacular, but welcoming. The building itself needs a major facelift. As far as the food, well, sadly, my husband and I were not at all impressed. Nothing had flavor with the exception of the smoked sausage...but then again anything that is "smoked" has it's own flavor. The eggs were gross. I asked for scrambled with cheese and they literally just threw a slice of American cheese right on top...no mixing it in or anything. The pancakes were rubbery, and the coffee was weak. The one thing I did enjoy were the biscuits, although hubby wasn't impressed. They need a major revamp with their decor and menu. Sorry, but I had to be honest.
